The article I read was titled, “The End of Star Wars” written by Troy Patterson. The article is about the new cartoon series named “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”. In this article, the author talks about how this show is meant for children in about the sixth grade. He states that the only way that parents allow their kids to watch all of the explosions and violence is because all the death is brought upon evil clones. The voice in this article is very casual. The author sets a witty tone by placing in clever remarks about the new series. One phrase that really stood out to me was when the author said “To appease the more committed geeks in the audience, I should note that this show is not to be confused with the article- free Star Wars: The Clone Wars, an animated series from 2003.” This remark is just on example of the witty remarks throughout the whole article. The intended audience is basically any one who has ever watched a Star Wars movie. I think this because the author talks about the series with much detail on the characters. He mentions such people like Anakin Skywalker and Yoda with out giving any background information on who they are and what role they play in the series. The reader is assumed to know basic information about Star Wars.
